Where to Put Your Logo: A Print Placement Guide for Church and Team Orders

Where to Put Your Logo: A Print Placement Guide for Church and Team Orders

If you're ordering custom shirts for your church, team, or event for the first time, one question comes up almost every time: "Where should the logo go?"

It seems simple until you're staring at a blank shirt mockup with four possible spots and no idea which one actually works. Here's the breakdown we walk every customer through before we press a single transfer.

Left Chest

This is the classic spot for a small logo or wordmark. Think polo shirts, uniforms, staff gear.

  • Size: roughly 3 to 4 inches wide
  • Placement: about 4 inches down from the collar, centered over the chest pocket area
  • Best for: small logos, single words, simple icons
  • Keep it simple. Fine detail gets lost at this size.

Center Chest

The most common placement for a statement design. This is where most of our King of Kings and JESUS graphics live.

  • Size: 8 to 10 inches wide, 6 to 10 inches tall
  • Placement: starts about 3 inches below the collar, centered
  • Best for: logos, scripture text, bold graphics where people are meant to read it at a glance

Full Front

For groups who want the design to be the shirt, not just an accent.

  • Size: up to 12 to 14 inches wide and tall
  • Placement: centered, starting 3 to 4 inches below the collar
  • Best for: streetwear-style designs, event shirts, anything meant to make a statement

Full Back

The most requested placement for church events, team shirts, and anything meant to be seen in a crowd. This is what we did for Osborne Neighborhood Church's 250th shirts.

  • Size: 12 to 15 inches wide, 14 to 16 inches tall
  • Placement: centered, starting about 3 to 4 inches below the collar seam
  • Best for: large graphics, scripture verses, event names, anything that needs to read from a distance

Sleeve

Small and often overlooked, but it's where a lot of our church orders put their organization name or logo.

  • Size: 3 to 4 inches
  • Placement: centered on the upper arm, below the shoulder seam
  • Best for: church names, small logos, subtle branding that doesn't compete with the main design

How We Use This for Custom Orders

When Osborne Neighborhood Church came to us for their 250th anniversary shirts, we used three locations: a full back graphic as the centerpiece, a smaller front accent, and the church name on the sleeve. That combination gave the shirts depth without overcrowding any single spot.

The number of print locations also affects pricing, since each one requires a separate transfer and press pass. If you're not sure what combination makes sense for your group, that's exactly what we walk through during your custom order consultation.
